2.0.0 demo.browse.php does not detect some tags

Post by andig » Fri Oct 12, 2007 12:59 pm

I've got my library tagged with MediaMonkey, id3v1 and v2. When browsing a folder with getID3, it does for some songs not see an Artist, for others a Title.
For all songs where this (wrong) behaviour happens, it detects lyrics3, id3v2 and v1, for all songs where detection is fine it identifies id3v2 and v1 only.

Conclusion: I believe something is wrong with lyrics3 detection which screws up finding the right tags.

Any help?

Thanks,
Andi

I've submitted test song via email.

The sample song you submitted does indeed contain a Lyrics3 tag (only contains artist info).

Mhhm. Not sure if MM understands lyrics3 tags really- but it does show the song tiutle (What Have You Done). Looking at the file contents I can also find this referenced two times- any idea how to access this information with getid3?

Thanks,
Andi

The title (as well as other data such as album, year, genre) is present in both ID3v1 and ID3v2. Note that the current beta versions of getID3() (v2.0.4b4 and v1.7.8b1) have a problem with truncating the last character of some ID3v2 tags, see here for patch:
