remove all ID3 Tags / Covers etc. reliable

Post by theunexpecteds » Sun Nov 08, 2009 2:23 pm

Untill now, i didn't figured out, to delete all Tags and Covers in an mp3 file reliable.
The reason why i want do this, is to find files with the same 'audio' content (on hash of the file without ID3) and only different ID3 Tags.
Maybe anyone has some idea on that, i would be lucky to here it.

Thanks!

Don't bother deleting tags, just look at the returned [md5_data] key (make sure $getid3->option_md5_data = true). This will show you if the data portion (not including tags) is the same.

Thank's for your quick answer. It works well for this requirement.
On the other hand, it could be suitable to clean mp3 files from all Tags / Covers etc., for example to rebuild a music library cleanly.
With the function to get a md5 hash from the audio part, there must be an possibility to get even this done.
I will try to find out how, but i'm not such familiar with the getid3 class. Maybe more on that later...
