Writing To m4a / m4b aac files

Post by djmollusk » Sun Aug 23, 2009 5:16 pm

From what I've read I think i've gathered that getID3 doesn't support writing to m4a / m4b aac files. Am I wrong?

I've read that m4a / m4b aac files support id3, but that doesn't seem to be native to them.

What I'm wanting to do is change the album art on non itunes m4a files (encoded with FAAC) without needing to encode them again. It looks like FAAC doesn't even support editing the cover art wthout encoding again. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking to do this via getID3 if possible or by *nix command line.
