Probable truncated file

Post by openstream » Fri Aug 22, 2008 10:30 am

I'm using the latest 2.0 version of getID3. Very nice stuff!

The demo.browse.dhtml.php script tells me that some of my MP3 files are probably truncated
Probable truncated file: expecting 2149433 bytes of audio data, only found 1568768 (short by 580665 bytes)
which results in APE tags not being read correctly. Normally, all files have id3v1, id3v2 and ape tags, but the supposedly truncated ones only have id3v2.

Looking at the file with Tag Scanner the APE tags seem to be o.k. and the file can be played from beginning to end.

Is there a way to still read the APE tags by minimizing the error level in getid3 or something?

Any pointer as to what might be the problem here would be very much appreciated.

Nick

The truncated audio warning, and not finding the APE tags are two independent problems. If you can send (PM) me a (link to) a sample MP3 file that has this problem I can take a look at it and figure out what's happening.
