Lock wait timeout exceeded

Post by hirnlego » Mon Jan 23, 2006 4:50 pm

Hi, I'm using v1.7.5.
I'm having the following error when doing the mysql_query for writing ID3 tags into the database (I had to take out the @ before mysql_query() to get the error message):

Code: Select all

Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction
I took the code for updating the table from demo.mysql.php and modified it, since the table is already created and I only need to push the data into it.
No problems during the connection and no problems during the analysis, just the problem above during the query.
I'm calling the script via http connection (post) from inside a ruby on rails app, which uploads the file and creates the record.
I'm just a mysql and php newbie so I cannot understand the error. Anybody can help?
Thanks.

bob

Please, can anybody help me out? I'm stuck with this problem and I have no idea of the reason why it happens.
The only thing I know is that it happens in production environment, while in local environment everything's works fine...
:(

Your script dies between "LOCK TABLES" and "UNLOCK TABLES"?

-or-

Your script dies after BEGIN and before COMMIT with InnoDB tables?
