getID3 remote for large files

Post by vasile_radu » Mon Apr 02, 2007 2:06 pm

Hi everyone,

I must obtain information about large files, (video ), and I wonder if getID3 can help me. The option of copy the file local is out of question ( I'm working whith large files in 80% of cases).

I appreciate all suggestions.

Thanks,

Radu.

You must obtain some knowledge on the formats you wish to support.

Does the formats have all information in the file header?
Or is some of the information at the very end of the file?
Maybe some information is in each frame - you must disable these checks.

If all info is in the header, then you are lucky. Simply copy the first n bytes into a temp file and analyze() that file.

If you also need info from the end, then add this. You may have to add lots of padding to the middle.
