Here's what's currently on my wishlist/to-do-list, I'll edit this as things change: Recently removed:
  • Support for files larger than 2GB (64-bit PHP installations only) (added in v1.8.5)
  • Support for Musepack SV8 (added in v1.7.8b4)
  • Support for Matroska (added in v1.7.8b3)
  • Support for DTS (thanks (added in v1.7.8b1)

MP3pro is a very closed codec, just like dts. Detection might be impossible.

MPC SV8 is a proposal only that got stranded for 2 years. The developer got bored with the MPC project.

Szip is not an audio encoder, but a general compression utility. I don't think it is used by many people.

I don't have much use for non Audio/Video formats in getID3(). However, I hear people rave about 7zip quite often.

There is also popular UNIX compressor called bzip2 and a popular Windows compressor called ACE. And finally a Mac compressor called stuffit.

If you really want to wild, there are the old, but very popular at the time, formats: LHA, ARJ, JAR and ARC (probably forgot some).
