Support for non-media files??

What features would you like to see in future versions of getID3() ?

Support for non-media files??

Has the idea to broaden getid3's capabilities ever been considered? This project could easily evolve into a generic "file metadata extraction" library if it supported more non-media files.

I see there is support for ISO files, so this idea may not be too far from the current direction of development.

By non-media files, I mean ALL types of files. Office documents, plain text, source code, compressed archives, etc etc.

getID3() already supports some image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SWF, PhotoCD), and some data formats (ZIP, ISO, szip).

I have no plans to add support for any other formats any time soon.

getID3() is open source - anyone can contribute. I am only interested in audio formats myself.
