Media information from DVD .iso/.img Possible?!?

Hey,

Just wondering if it is possible to extract media information from an .iso or .img file of a dvd. I'm working on a system to catalog my movies which I've ripped to HD,some of which are in .iso and .img format, and was hoping I might be able to harness the power of getid3 to retrieve media details from those files.

Not without mounting them.

Sure.

Then you are just analysing normal files.

I've finally gotten around to implementing this but I still can not figure out how to read the media information from a mounted DVD with getID3. I have access to the full VIDEO_TS folder including .VOBs, .IFOs, .BUPs, etc. Is there any way I can analyze one of these files to retrieve data like audio/video bitrate, audio codec, resolution, etc?
